When one of the UK’s leading drama schools decided to create a stunning new theatre building in London, its complex acoustic integrity was placed in the hands of TVS Acoustics. Working closely with Carl Turner Architects, designers of the new Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in Peckham, and acoustic consultants Charcoal Blue, TVS needed to deliver specialist acoustic solutions across the multifaceted complex.
“With each floor offering professional rehearsal spaces, production workshops, acting, TV and dance studios, as well as sundry offices, decoupling each area from the other to prevent noise transfer was crucial,” explained Patrick Dent, Technical Director, TVS Acoustics. “The solution was to place each area on its own acoustic floating floor platform.”
TVS installed over 2200m2 of its specialist TVS RESi Concrete Floating Floors across the new theatre complex to isolate noise issues and deliver the high-quality acoustic solution required by all parties.
